The past week in Independent Study and Mentorship I have kind of taken a break and laid a little low. In the midst of a hectic competition and performance season, it was nice to be able to have a sort of break before it all starts back up again. Coming off of the Research Showcase, I had plenty of time for reflection about the past year, and the changes I wanted to make for the year ahead. I haven't been down to clinic as much as I would like this year because I have been restricted due to some of the classes I have been enrolled in and the teachers I have had this year, but hopefully I have worked out the majority of these issues and will be able to get down to clinic much more often. Ms. Tyrah Singletary, Dr. Mansour's administrative assistant, recently put me into the database for UTSW so hopefully the administration for UTSW will reach out to me soon and I can get into the operating rooms. This really was a big goal of mine this year, to get to observe more surgeries, and although it has been quite a process, I feel that we are really close to making it possible.
