Surgical Oncology

Surgical oncology is a form of oncology that utilizes surgery for the treatment and management of various forms of cancer. Surgical oncologists provide treatment for various forms of cancer, including but not limited to brain cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic, and stomach cancer.

Each year, approximately 1 million people will be diagnosed with cancer. Although the forms of cancer vary, many will go through surgery to either biopsy or remove the tumor. Surgical oncologists are working to fight back against cancer, and find not only a cure, but ways to better predict how a cancer will react and spread.
