This week in ISM has been a bit chaotic. I have been relatively swamped between school work, mentor visits, college applications, and drill team, but I know that it is nothing that I haven't handled before and am confident in my ability to juggle all of it. I am, however, quite ready to know where I am headed next fall and for that source of stress to be over. It does make me quite sad, though, as the thought of moving a long distance away is a lot for me to think about currently. My family and friends are so important to me, and although I have wanted to move away for college for essentially the past four years, it is actually starting to become real to me. I haven't actually had time to sit down and process all of the loved ones I will leave behind, but I know that the next four years hold so much for me and I absolutely cannot wait to begin to work towards my career as a surgical oncologist. I want to be able to make a difference in the lives of others, and I know that this is truly the most rewarding field in medicine. Everyday, I am thankful for the opportunities I have been offered and for the incredible people I have been able to meet.
