This week was an exciting one. We had our Independent Study and Mentorship Research Showcase, and it was an incredible opportunity to showcase my research, interviews, and all of the work that has gone into the first semester of ISM. I was grateful that a lot of my teachers were able to come, and all of my family was able to make it. Dr. Mansour was also able to be at the research showcase for the whole night. I was incredibly grateful that Dr. Mansour was able to take time off of work and was able to come, because he was able to meet my family, but he was also able to see all of the work I put in outside of clinic and tumor boards. The whole showcase was a lot less formal than I expected it to be and it was a lot more conversational than I was expecting. It was also interesting to talk to the people that I didn't know at the showcase. For example, I met and conversed with a geneticist who actually suffers from bladder cancer, so it was interesting to discuss that with him. In the upcoming week, I am working on my original work speech as well as my final product.
