This week has almost entirely been preparation for the upcoming research showcase on January 18th. I finished my display board, which included quite a bit more work than I was anticipating, however I am really excited and proud of the final product. I feel as though my board is both inviting and professional, and it displays all of the information I have accumulated over the first semester, as well as all of the assessments and interviews I have completed over the past couple of months. My mentor is going to be at the research showcase for the majority of the night, and I am excited for him to meet my family, teachers, and other guests that are coming to the showcase. I am a little nervous for the showcase, as I am not a particularly good speaker, however I am incredibly passionate about the field that I am studying and I hope that my excitement and passion for studying this field of medicine comes across in my conversations. With the exception of a few nerves, I am incredibly excited for this showcase; it gives me the opportunity to show my teachers and parents what I have been doing all year. I feel like I am ready for the showcase, and I can not wait to see what the next semester holds.
