This week has had a lot to do with both assessing my original work and preparing myself for the research showcase on January 18th. I submitted my original work project, which was a research paper over the implications of nanotechnology in surgical oncology, after quite a few hours spent researching, typing, and theorizing. The total amount of time I put into my original work totaled up to around 24 hours, which was the most amount of time I have ever spent doing anything in my educational career. I am incredibly proud of not only my final project, but also the amount of time and the dedication I devoted to this research paper. It is definitely something that I will present to colleges I am applying to, and it is something that I think will set me apart from other candidates. The latter half of the week has been spent preparing my research portfolio, which is full of research papers, assessments, and weekly reports, and preparing my display board for the showcase. Overall, I realized that the preparation for this research showcase is a lot more than I was expecting, but I know that the final presentation and my final product will be even more time consuming, but I am excited to see what my final product will be.
